Under the Surface
I found the underwater world a couple of summers ago. I went to buy some gear from the store and a snorkeling kit came along with it. I jumped into the lake nearby and immediately got hooked. I hadn’t realized before, how different world had waited me under the surface.
The internet is full of fancy pictures from the seas far away but it seems you don’t always have to travel far. Especially on sunny and calm days it is fantastic to glide in clear lakes. This picture, however, is from the blurry Haukivesi in Saimaa.
Under the Surface website is about my expeditions in the underwater world as well as my findings on the ground. I have had the pleasure to be on a discovery voyage at both of the universities in Tampere, the City Council, and since spring as a Project Manager at Ekokumppanit Oy.
